A Woman’s Word

I lovingly offer this book as a roadmap for anyone on a healing journey back to themselves.

In my book “A Woman’s Word”, you will get a first-hand account of 9 brave women courageously rebuilding their lives with me, in every sense, after walking through some of the hardest things that we endure. You will fall in love with, identify with, and root for these real women while perhaps having some ‘ah-ha’ moments of your own along the way.

Follow Rosa’s heart-wrenching journey through teen addiction and homelessness, Sophia’s relatable struggle with perfectionism and anxiety as an executive in corporate while battling secret shame, or feel for Brenda as she fumbles through motherhood as best she can, while battling depression from unprocessed grief.

DARKNESS IS A PART OF EVERYONE’S JOURNEY THAT NEEDS A LIGHT SHINED THROUGH IT TO HEAL

The identities of the brave women you will come to love in this compilation are disguised, and some details changed to protect their anonymity further. This book is, however, very much non-fiction, with the subjects generously offering their stories in the hope of helping others feel less alone.

I wrote this book because I wanted to put together a collection of stories that accurately depicts who WE are, to create a new and relatable point of reference of what it is to be a woman – outside of glossy, well-curated social media content. We are all a hot mess on some level, we still get to love ourselves!

By reading A Woman’s Word readers are sure to be inspired and encouraged. Joanna eloquently shares deeply heroic and empowering stories.

I have to tell you – when I got to the last line, I cheered out loud!

Woman's Empowerment Speaker

One of my favorite empowerment presentations is leading this validating discussion on what gets in the way of successfully bringing your best authentic self to work.

Curating our work identity is exhausting, creates unintended consequences to our health and leadership potential, and can have us disengage from our work and what we do.

Bringing your whole self to work is acknowledging who you are and bringing all aspects of what makes you “you” to the workplace. When we hide traits of our identity, we think we might be liked more or fit in better, but the opposite is true.

Discussion Includes:

  • Identifying your personal mindset and energy type (archetype), and how that may influence the way others perceive you.
  • Learning how to read your body’s stress signals as you adapt to spending more time in the office, renew your energy during the workday, and relax during personal time.
  • Understanding how significant life events, past professional disappointments, or personal trauma may be affecting your perception of the world around you and how to refresh your personal lens of life.
